Founder: Rick Perez

Rick Perez has been coaching throughout the Bay Area for the last 10 years. He was the Head Assistant Coach at MT. Pleasant High School (1991-1993) before leaving to attend California State University of Chico. After graduating from CSUC, Rick wanted to return to coaching, so he established the Bay Area Hoosiers nine years ago. He landed the Head Coaching job at Harker Academy (2000-02) turning the program around from a 4-18 record the previous year, to 20-4 winning season. He was President of the West San Jose NJB program, and also helped train kids individually. Wanting to focus on his club program (Bay Area Hoosiers) full time, he decided to leave the high school circuit and wanted to establish an elite, fundamentally sound club team. A 1997 graduate of California State University of Chico with a degree in Spanish Literature, Rick Perez was a member of the men's Baseball Team. He brings a lot of experience and schooling from great coaches like Robert Montgomery Knight, Tom Davis, Don Meyer etc.... The Bay Area Hoosiers today have established a great core of alumni and future players. Rick quotes "We, as a program and coaching staff, want to implement the importance of team play and develop our players in a team environmentl". Today, the Bay Area Hoosiers have established themselves as one of the top teams in California and have been recognized nationally. Rick is the president of a mortgage funding company based out of the Bay Area and currently resides in San Francisco.
